Wild, Wacky Weekend
Friday
After work, Kman and I headed to grab dinner at Dirty Bird To-Go before going to a Motion City Soundtrack concert at Irving Plaza. I love this place because A) it’s absolutely delicious and B) is sort of a hole in the wall, with a bar table that faces outside for prime people watching!
Fried chicken followed by great music? Already the makings of a great night.
After the concert, it was time to meet up with a few of my friends from home! Chris, Sara, and Jerome were in town for the weekend and staying with my friend, Kate. I hadn’t seen them all in such a long time, and the three of them had never met Kman. He got the seal of approval from all three (including both of my very protective guy friends!). What can I say!? He’s a keeper.
We started off with drinking games at Kate’s, so I knew things were about to get a wee bit messy haha.
We wound up getting home at 4AM, so needless to say, the next day I was slightly hungover. Nothing that Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee, a yummy breakfast sandwich, and cute kittens couldn’t cure though!
Saturday
With some serious R&R under my belt, I was ready to venture out to the West Village with Kman to meet Jess and her boyfriend, Sam, along with Dana and her boyfriend, Ed. I had raved to them about Lederhosen from our date night last week, so that was our dinner/drinks destination. I forgot to snap pics at dinner, but the 6 of us split a 5L keg like a bunch of BOSSES!
This was, hands down, the best triple date in the history of the world. How can I make such a bold claim? Because on our way from Lederhosen to a bar down the street, we just so happened to walk past a sex shop offering an open bar.
Um, really?! They had us at open bar, so Jess, Dana, and I headed right on in, with the guys reluctantly in tow. Then we realized that it was the same sex shop that Charlotte visited on Sex and the City! Yup, so we had a few glasses of wine while gawking at all of the…paraphernalia. Interesting, to say the least!
After wearing out our welcome, we continued on to Fiddlesticks where we danced and drank the night away.
It was one of the most fun weekends I’ve had in a long time! It’s always great to spend time with amazing people, and I was fortunate enough to hang out with some of my favorite people two nights in a row.
Lesson learned though. As an almost 25 year old (my birthday is this coming Saturday, the 17th!), I really can’t hang like I used to. Going to bed at 4AM threw me off for a while! I felt like a zombie for the majority of Saturday. It was worth it though.
Question: How do you recover after a weekend of too much fun? For me, it’s lots of sleep, tea, exercise, and some clean eating for the next couple days.
