Trip to the Wheeeeeee! Market
Buenos d ías everyone! How’s your weekend so far?! To start off, I’ve had a total girls’ weekend. Kman and three of his buddies packed up early yesterday morning to go on a dude camping trip in upstate NY, and I set off for Brooklyn Flea! Earlier in the week, I asked three of my girl friends if they’d like to join me for a thrifting adventure on Saturday morning, and broached the idea of a 10AM meetup to beat the crowds. After fueling with some much-needed coffee, Katy, Steph, Nadege and I were ready to hunt some bargains!
These fall under the category of “so freaking cute, I gotta have them, but uhhhh when would I actually use 4 of these?” While shopping, I pretty much “oooooo!” and “ahhhhh!” over everything. As usual, my SBS was in full force.
Nadege had the brilliant idea to organize her jewelry in this old tackle box! It was so clever, I simply had to pick one up for myself. Look for an organized pic at the bottom
Super cool old baseball glove.
Jorts, anyone?
Again, falling under that same category. Pretty!
Must. Buy. Cowboy boot…
Nadege and Katy with a life-sized toothbrush, because why not?
Dinosaur necklackes?! Neat!
I love old, vintage cans. This probably stems from the fact that my mom has a bunch around the house, including one just like this saltine container.
$2 Giant-ass donuts from Dough. Usually, I’m not a real donut person, but these were such unusual flavors!
I went with Blood Orange, and Katy got Chocolate Chipotle.
All in all, I’d say our day was pretty…
It was so much fun hanging out with the girls! After shopping til’ we dropped, I headed home to unpack my loot.
My haul for the day:
Set of 7 wide-mouth mason jars, perfect for drinking cups!
Bright orange tackle box. Before:
…and after: (note: necklaces get stored on cute little hooks from World Market)
2 old metal bowls with gorgeous designs.
3 Pyrex bowls which are so vivid! I fell in love on the spot. Also, can we talk about my strange, recent obsession with bowls, and kitchenware in general? I think it’s being excited about finally living with Kristian and wanting to turn our apartment into a home. I had to restrain myself from lots of other items, but these were absolutely necessary.
Bargain prices, top to bottom:
- 7 mason jars = $20
- tackle box = $10
- 2 metal bowls = $15
- 3 Pyrex bowls = $35
Grand total for Saturday? $80!
Now I’m off in search of coffee and something yummy for breakfast. My belly is saying bagel sandwich from down the street because I’ve deprived myself of them the past few times I’ve visited! Might be time to give in
Hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing Sunday!
What is something weird that you always gravitate towards when shopping?
