Styrofoam and PB Jorts
Woooo! Woke up bright and early this morning to get my strength training workout in. Extra woooo because this time, I was up before the alarm, with nary an “I hate you!” uttered! Talk about improvement
As soon as I knocked out this workout:
chest fly (12 reps, 2 sets, 10 lbs)
single arm dumbbell rows (12 reps, 2 sets, 15 lbs)
dumbbell shoulder press (12 reps, 2 sets, 10 lbs)
seated dumbbell biceps curl (12 reps, 2 sets, 12.5 lbs)
overhead triceps (12 reps, 2 sets, 10 lbs)
triceps dips on bench (12 reps, body weight)
lunges (12 reps, 2 sets, 20 lbs)
calf raises (12 reps, 2 sets)
plank (2 sets, 30 seconds)
squats (2 sets, 12 reps, 20 lbs)

With an extra pep in my step, I bounced back to the apartment and promptly devoured a kiwi push pop!
That was followed up by a bowl of PB Joats (PB + jelly + oats + nana + chia seeds). Joats reminds me of jorts, which are the funniest things ever. PB Jorts it is from now on!
Usually, I’m a creature of habit for breakfast, and rotate between the same few things. Lately, I’ve been salivating over Julie’s recipe for her morning smoothie in a bowl. I asked her what protein powder she uses, and bought some on Amazon the other day. I can’t wait for it to get here so I can have it for breakfast most mornings!
I also opted for some iced tea this morning, in lieu of coffee…
…Because my Friday morning treat is a Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee! In a recent effort to curtail my growing addiction, I’ve decided to limit myself to DDs on Friday and Saturday mornings.
Dunkin Donuts iced coffee is only made better by the insulating properties of a Styrofoam cup on the outside. Environmentally sound? Nope! But it keeps my beverage nice and cool for hours (if it makes it that long without me slurping it down!), so it’s fine by me
THANK GOODNESS! Just as I was starting to write that my tummy was a-grumblin’, the delivery guy showed up at my office. I was prepared to scarf down a piece of pizza for Pizza Friday, but alas, today it was sandwiches. Pardon me…it’s actually giant 6-foot long subs.
I picked out a small turkey sandwich, and paired it with some Caesar salad, celery sticks, and fruit salad. The fruit salad is pretty deluxe, I might add. No obnoxious fillers like cantaloupe and honeydew melon! Blackberries, mango, strawberries, grapes…talk about yum-city for my tum-city!
