Quirky Eats and Sore Feet…s
Monday P.M.
After work last night, the weather in the city was so gorgeous that I chose to forgo the subway and walk over the Brooklyn Bridge instead! I was on a mission to pick up a pair of lululemon Groove Shorts, since I realized my Under Armour running spandex dated back to my high school field hockey days. Out with the old and in with the new!
By walking from my office in DUMBO to the SoHo lululemon and then to the World Trade Center PATH station, I managed to cover a little over 3 miles. While awesome, I had a sort of uncomfortable pair of flats on, so my dogs were barking by the end.
When I got home, I also took a “before” picture that I’ll use in an eventual post when I hit my goal weight! There is nothing cheesier than taking a before picture, by the way. I wish that I had taken one before losing ~15 lbs in the past few months, but in an eventual recap post I’ll use some blah older pictures for comparison.
Dinner last night was a really weird combo. Last week I found a super simple, clean recipe for Green Beans with Creamy Garlic Dressing from EatingWell and was dying to try them. I also just so happened to have a bag of fresh green beans and a container of plain Chobani lying around the fridge in the eat me box, so it was perfect!
Gotta love a recipe that consists of just a few ingredients! Perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Obviously I doubled the amount of garlic called for! It was creamy, garlicky, and was exactly what my belly was asking for. Afterwards, I got a little craving for something sweet, so I went with my trusty Ezekiel cinnamon raisin toast with almond butter + strawberry preserves.
After dinner, I threw on Law and Order: SVU while I bopped around the apartment cleaning up! I also dropped and did Week 5 Day 1 of my Push-Up program. I had to scale back a little bit since the last exhaustion test I did sort of messed up the rest of the program. It had me jump from doing ~80 a day to ~150! OY VEY.
Tuesday A.M.
Today was supposed to start out with a run, but my legs felt like lead so I hopped on the elliptical for 30 minutes instead. I forgot how much I dislike the elliptical. I know it’s decent for cardio but I just don’t feel like it’s a real workout. Also, I found a great Tone It Up ab workout that I did afterwards.
Work has been pretty hectic lately, so keeping a nice, healthy routine has been super helpful. I love starting the morning off on the right foot! It really sets you up for a wonderful day.
I rounded the morning out with a fresh juice of:
- beet
- celery
- romaine
- carrots
- cucumber
- orange
- kiwi
And we noshed on the rest of the strawberries that I picked up on Sunday.
Um, and can we please talk about the weather lately?! God, I looooooove spring! Almost 80 on Thursday? Yes please.
