Pretty Good For a Wednesday!
Yesterday, I went on an app-downloading spree! I first downloaded My Fitness Pal after hearing some people on Twitter mention it, and then I got Lose It, which Cait suggested.
After using both of them, I think I’ll be sticking with Lose It! It’s a pretty, simple UI and it makes tracking foods/workouts a total breeze. While I can’t really get behind the constant calorie tracking, I definitely think it’s a good idea to check in every so often and see just how much you’re eating. It’s so easy to gradually increase portions and wonder why you’re not losing weight any more.
Additionally, since I’ve been running 5 miles a day 4-5 days a week, this gives me a substantial calorie deficit. I kept my food at what I was eating before running a bunch, and I realized that I need to add some additional grub in throughout the day.
I love Lose It app so far, and it’s been really fun to plug everything in. I’m a creature of habit, and tend to eat the same meals over and over…but still mixing it up occasionally! This makes an app like this fairly easy for me to use. Set a few recipes and boom, nice and easy to add in the future.
This morning, I knocked out 5 miles averaging 9:13 min/miles and felt wonderful!
Post-run, I fueled in the usual way: vegetable/fruit juice (celery, cucumber, lemon, apple, parsley, carrots)!
And I also threw together an egg, muenster, and jelly sandwich on a whole wheat english muffin.
And instead of my go-to green monster smoothie this morning, which consists of 2 cups of kale, 2 cups of spinach, water, and a banana…I mixed it up!
I went with a twist on my choco-cherry smoothie. No almond milk this time, just water instead. And would you believe I still have frozen cherries leftover from my frozen cherry debacle ?! I need to stock up on cherries when they’re in season and freeze some more.
Uhhh, when ARE cherries in season? I should look into that.
Oh! And exciting news!
If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that we live next to a neighbor from hell. Well, we got word from our leasing office today that they’re willing to let us move out April 30th instead of June 30th, when our lease ends. No penalty, no fees, nothing! YAY!! Now we just have to find an apartment in NYC.
Question: Do you use any apps to keep track of your workouts/eats?
