In Which I Burg & Then Attempt to Run it Off
Last night, I had a date with the one and only Jessica! Given the gorgeous weather we’ve been having in NYC lately, we initially planned on grabbing dinner at Whole Foods and then going for a stroll around Central Park. Unfortunately, the weather did not want to cooperate, so we had to resort to a plan B.
Fortunately, Plan B involved burgin’!
burgin’ (adj.)
Passionately consuming a burger. “Oh yeah, I’m burgin!”
We met up at Bareburger in Murray Hill and noshed on our respective burgers, pausing to chat and catch up. I went with an organic turkey burger on a multigrain bun, but took no pictures because I was too busy devouring it.
This morning, it was rise and shine as usual to get my run on! 4 miles was a nice wakeup on this dreary day.
After the run, it was time to tackle week 5 day 1 of my 100 push-up challenge. I went into it wicked intimidated, because I had done a test on Wednesday to check my progress. I was able to do 40 consecutive, good form push-ups, which then translates into a killer next couple weeks of the program! Case in point, today:
Yeah…that didn’t happen. I did the first 28 no problem and then 15 of the second set, but then I had to drop to my knees for the rest of them. I think I have to drop the program back a bit…yikes!
I refueled afterwards with a celery, pear, cucumber, broccoli stump, lemon, parsley, and carrot juice…
But when it came time to do the dishes, someone was lounging in the dish drying area. Um, Penny, that’s sort of unsanitary but I guess it’s OK because your tail is soooooo fluffy!
In other news, spring has sprung! Well, almost!
I snapped this while we were walking to see an apartment the other day. An apartment that had already been rented, might I add. UGH.
This weekend, Kman and I are seeing an apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and I hope to all that is holy that A) we like it and B) it is still available. Apartment hunting in New York is mind-numbingly, soul-suckingly terrible. I know at the end of it all we’ll have an awesome apartment in a great area, but the process is killer! Wish me luck!
Oh, and I honestly can’t recommend the Lose It app enough. It has made dropping some lbs, dare I say, FUN! The app itself is so pretty and easy to use, and the web version is just as great. Some other calorie tracking apps are way too complex and make it difficult to actually find what you’re looking for.
If you’re using the app, add me! Search for my email address: amy@fruitsaladlife.com
Since using it, I’ve dropped an additional 2 lbs, bringing my total to 13 lbs lost since beginning of January.
One of these days I’ll have to do a more detailed weight loss post, and when I hit my goal weight, before and after pictures.
Off to work! Have a wonderful Friday everyone, and check back later for a fun giveaway.
