Immune System Boost
After starting to feel a teensy bit under the weather during the day on Monday, I woke up yesterday morning with full blown throat nastiness. The right side of my throat was all sore and swollen, so I just went right back to bed after emailing work that I wouldn’t be going in.
I absolutely hate when I get sick (which is really infrequently) because I’m always so cautious about germs. Well, I say cautious, but Kman might say phobic haha. I get lots of fruits and veggies, take my vitamins, wash my hands, and try to not touch public surfaces (or hand sanitize after I do). I maintain that I picked up a little cold from being stuck on MegaBus for 4 hours with gross coughing people. Ugh, human germs. GROSS.
Okkkkk, let’s move on before you all think I’m crazy.
Kman was a doll and whipped up a juice for us, making sure to give me some extra
It was full of leafy greens, carrots, and citrus and was so tasty!
I supplemented that with some warm lemon water, followed by green tea + honey.
And breakfast was just a big grapefruit for a nice Vitamin C boost.
Then it was back to bed! I spent the majority of the day napping in bed with the kitties. I also ended up watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix and reading the 5th book of the Game of Thrones series on my Kindle.
I think a nice day of rest was super helpful, because I woke up this morning ready to work out!
A quick 3 mile run followed by a few sets of lunges with 10 lb weights, 50 pushups, and a little ab workout. I need to do another 50 tonight, because I’m making an effort to do 100 pushups every day. That way, even if I don’t get a strength workout in at the gym, I’m still toning my arms for sleeveless season!
Hmmm…am I the only one who does this while reading a magazine on the treadmill? I can’t stand the thick paper used for perfume and makeup ads, because they prevent me from flipping the rest of the pages. So I viciously rip them up and scatter them on the floor, obviously cleaning them up after I’m finished running!
It looks like a magazine ad graveyard next to my treadmill haha.
Eats for the rest of the week should be interesting, considering the kitchen is pretty barren at this point. Neither of us feels like grocery shopping until bright and early on Sunday, so I’m going to have to get creative! Sometimes it’s more fun that way.
Have a great day!
Question: What’s something that gets you through the middle of the week? Planning out my weekend always seems to help make it come faster.

haha the bottom of the elliptical/treadmill always looks the same when I am on it too. I hate all those stupid cards they stuff in there! Glad your feeling better!
A magazine graveyard. First time I’ve heard that and I’m still laughing. Hope you’re feeling better!
