Guess Who’s Back!
During the summer, the thought of eating warm oatmeal for breakfast is enough to make me gag. There is just nothing that sounds appealing about it! Sure, I try it every so often, but I always regret it.
Oatmeal = colder weather food. And don’t even try to say, “Oh but cold overnight oats in a jar!”
I dunno, something about that doesn’t work for me either. To each his (or her) own, right?
Well my tummy clearly knows that summer is over because I woke up craving a nice big bowl of oatmeal this morning!
Which wouldn’t have been complete without my new love, Trader Joe’s Almond Butter with Roasted Flax Seeds. If you haven’t tried this stuff yet, I strongly suggest picking some up on your next TJ’s run!
And breakfast simply is not breakfast without a big glass of iced coffee! When I have it at home (which is 90% of the time) I add a bit of skim milk and some agave nectar.
Aaaand this is the perfect opportunity for a Wizard of Oz quote! Instead of “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain” let’s switch it to: “Pay no attention to the gigantic cat tree in the background of this picture!”
Question: Do you have any foods that you absolutely can’t eat in certain seasons? Another one for me is soup. Gross in the summer!

I eat soup only in the fall and winter, its such a cold season eat for me!
It’s hard for me to eat chili in the summer. Its a winter food
Agreed! I’ve actually been craving some turkey chili lately…definitely need to make that soon. Can’t wait to read all about your new adventures in SF!
Grrr I JUST bought a jar of almond butter at TJ’s a week or two ago, and didn’t see the flaxseed kind. It will take me a while to use it up so I can get that, but it looks great!
