Dress Fitting, Beer Drinking
Morning, everyone! I somehow managed to come up for air quickly and write a little post. I woke up at 7:30 this morning, tore open the Amazon package that arrived last night, and immediately began setting up my fitbit! But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Last night, Kman and I headed up to meet Kate, Katie, Janice, and Nicole (all bridesmaids in the Gavin + Kate WeddingFest 2k12!) so we could try on dresses. I love the fact that she isn’t going the traditional route with dresses, but has instead opted to enlist a family friend, who also happens to be a phenomenal designer, to do dresses for the wedding. All of the Luna by Josandra dresses are 100% silk and 100% gorgeous!
I tried on two styles, and decided to go with a strapless version. Um, pardon the bra straps. Note: Kman sitting in the corner covered in outer garments, plastic, etc that I tossed for him to hold. Sorry for turning you into my personal hanger, babe!
The dresses will be in a beautiful coral color…but I think I’ll have to keep an eye out for a Luna sample sale to pick up a dress in this fabric because I’m so in love with it. I was a little unsure of sizes, because I’ve dropped some weight and will definitely drop more in the next 3 months, but worst case scenario I can always have a last minute alteration done on the dress.
After a total girl-fest, we all grabbed some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee to help us power through the rest of the night…and then Kman and I set off back to Jersey City to meet up with some friends!
If you’ve been reading for a while, you’ll know how much I love Zepelin Hall beer garden in Jersey City. We hadn’t been there for a while, so last night we met up with Nick + Emily, Taylor + Sarah, and Matt to grab dinner and some beers.
It’s probably a good thing that we haven’t been in a while, because last summer we went pretty frequently.
Come to think of it, the 15 lbs I’ve dropped can probably be attributed to the beer garden! haha Just look at this picture from last summer…yikes! Compare the above picture with this one.
Anyways! I got a little beer, split a sausage with Kman, and nibbled on a soft pretzel, and everything totally hit the spot!
Later this morning we’re meeting up with the same crew from last night to grab breakfast at Wonder Bagels, then I’m heading into the city to meet up with Nadege, who I haven’t seen in a while! Later tonight we’re seeing a stand-up show at New York Comedy Club with Gavin.
But first, I’m off for a Skype session with the best dad in the universe…mine!*
*slight bias here, but I’m pretty sure it’s totally accurate.
