Bouncing Back
Ooph! That’s all I can say right now. The past few days have been filled with the 4 foods that I try to eat sparingly because of how lethargic I feel afterwards.
Thursday – BBQ brought in for lunch at work. I had 1/2 a sausage and mostly collard greens, cabbage, broccoli, etc…but still grease-city
Friday – pizza lunch…primarily mixed greens for me, plus one slice
Friday night – Chinese food for Jeremy’s birthday. Sweet n’ Sour chicken for yours truly. Followed by cake.
Saturday – we were going to burg at Steak n’ Shake…
But my body said no, no, NO! After juicing every morning and having glowing green smoothies for breakfast for the past month…my system was in shock from all of the greasy food. Even though I tried to pick semi-healthy options, my tummy was going on strike.
Nothing a nice orange, pear, cucumber, celery, and kale juice can’t cure!
Followed up by a Glowing Green Smoothie (kale + spinach + 1/2 frozen banana + water). I included my phone in the shot so you can see how mondo these things are. I measured it, and this jar is quart-sized…perfect for getting oodles and oodles of greens in every day!
So far, today has consisted of laundry, cleaning, throwing a bomb-ass combo in the crockpot for dinner tonight (recipe up tomorrow!), and now watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (just me…Kman is working on his game!). Once I kill the smoothie and this episode is over, we’re either going for a run outside or heading down to the gym. We shall see!
Last night
After work, we headed up to Westchester to Jim + Katie’s place for a little get-together with Jeremy + Ashley to celebrate Jeremy’s birthday! We chowed down on some Chinese food for dinner, ate some Fudgy the Whale ice cream cake…and then raged! And by raged I really mean used their juicer to make an enormous batch of juice!
Jeremy, being the birthday boy and all, got the honor of doing most of the juicing!
Grapes, blueberries, strawberries, apples, and pomegranate. Extra addition? Chia seeds!
So yummy. I love that everyone has hopped on the juicing bandwagon!
Now, I’m off to finish up my scintillating (read: trashy) show, and hang out with these guys today.
Oh, and this guy too!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
Question: What are some foods that wreak havoc on your bod? For me, I think Chinese food is the worst…instant belly ache!
