A New Addition to the Fam
Hola everyone! Pinky promise, I have two bomb recipes that I’ll be posting later (homemade sourdough pancakes + panko crusted dijon chicken…yum!), but first, I need to make a very important introduction.
Miss Eleanor Rigby aka Elle or Ellie came home with us yesterday afternoon!
We got her from the Liberty Humane Society after getting frustrated from dealing with lots of private animal rescue societies. There were extensive questionnaires, 3rd degree questions, and lots of defending our ability to adopt a cat. There are some cuh-raaaazy cat ladies out there! I know they just want the animals to go to a good home, which we absolutely have, but feeling as if you have to defend yourselves in order to do adopt a kitten…it was just really strange. In NYC, it’s probably easier to adopt a baby than a pet!
The humane society was wonderful! It was same day adoption, and now a 3 month old cutie is now the 4th member of our little family.
And she likes scrunchies, just like me!
Penny hasn’t met Ellie yet. We’re waiting a couple days to ease them into the new living situation. Pretty soon they’ll both be hanging out in that god-forsaken cat tree, which I’ve actually grown to like. AHHH what is happening to me?!
She wedged herself into a space between the shower and the bathroom sink, but then started to warm up to us.
I’m working from home today and tomorrow to ease her transition into a new place
On an un-cat-related note, we did a huuuuge mondo shopping trip to BJ’s yesterday to stock up on lots of essentials. Among some of the crazy-huge bargains?
- 6 lbs of frozen spinach
- 3 lbs of kale
- 4 lbs of frozen mixed berries
- cheap, cheap, CHEAP goat cheese
- 32 oz Chobani for $4 each (usually $9 at the corner market! Insane, I know.)
